Screen print, sublimation, in-mould labelling, laser engraving and ceramic transfer all have different colour limits, different minimum line weights, and different failure modes. A pattern designed without knowing which method will apply it is a pattern that gets redesigned anyway once production starts, at the point it's most expensive to change.
Brand marks need to survive being small
A logo that looks sharp at business-card size can turn into a blur once it's engraved at 8mm or printed on a curved handle. Legibility at true production scale, on the actual substrate, is the only test that matters, not how it looks blown up on a screen.
